Material Overview

The first question we are usually asked about AirMesh Polyester is "is it a flag or is it a banner?". The good news is that it's both - it is an incredibly versatile material that can be used for all kinds of outdoor products and use cases where either PVC-based materials have reigned supreme for many years, and also where flag material (knitted polyester) has been used.

Each item is printed and finished to your requirements.

Fabrics are printed via a process of dye-sublimation which uses special inks and undergoes a post-print heating process to 'fix' the ink into the fabric. This makes it both scuff-resistant and washable.

Advantages Over PVC-Based Materials

1. Simplified Packaging and Transportation. Unlike PVC-based materials that require careful rolling around a core to prevent creasing, folding, or pinching, AirMesh Polyester can be folded down with ease. This makes shipping, transport, and on-site deployment significantly simpler and more efficient.
2. Lightweight and Easy Handling. Weighing only 105gsm, AirMesh Polyester is incredibly lightweight. For example, a full-sized 3375mm × 1780mm Heras fencing banner weighs just 0.8kg, compared to approximately 1.9kg for a PVC-based equivalent. This lighter weight makes handling and installation far easier, particularly for larger or longer projects, reducing labour time and effort.
3. Durability and Strength. Despite being lighter, AirMesh Polyester is made from 100% polyester with reinforced, industry-grade sewn hems. This combination provides a highly durable and robust fabric. Its superior airflow properties also allow it to perform well in windy conditions, reducing stress and wear on the product over time.
